Although we are not involved with this year’s Northgate Music Festival, our past work has landed us a mention in the article in the August 2008 issue of Insite Magazine.
We applaud the changes Jessica Guidry and her team of bar owners and music promoters have implemented with this year’s festival. We “Wish” the festival the best year ever and are excited to see great things from the event.

This article from the Times Online lists many of the reasons women, in particular, do not like photographs of themselves.
..I think I look fine….Yet whenever I see a photo of myself, I think I look absolutely terrible.
As a camera-shy woman, I agree with many of the statements in the article. I also do not like the way I look in photographs.
As a professional photographer, I would like to counter with the idea that we are more likely to approve of professional portraits of ourselves.
According to OneLook.com, the definition of photograph is:
photograph - a picture of a person or scene in the form of a print or transparent slide; recorded by a camera on light-sensitive material
Thus, anyone can take a photo. All we need is a working camera, some decent aim, and a capable index finger.

portrait - any likeness of a person
It takes skill to make sure that portrait looks like the person. A portrait photographer knows how to pose people, how to use light, how to take advantage of the environment, how to select the best angle, etc.
