This is my first Digital Watercolor. I’m happy to use this cute image to show off a new technique I learned at Texas Photography School!
(and, this one was especially fun with all the swirls of icing!)

My husband, Emil, had a workshop to attend in Austin. I joined him at the end of the week so I could spend some time shooting in the pretty Hill Country. (We then spent the weekend with friends.)
I came back with hundreds of images, mostly of peacocks. What a fun trip!

Consider this: ask your florist to do your portrait bouquet in silk. Then, it can be your toss bouquet at the wedding! It will save you just a little money and will give you “perfect” flowers for all your portraits, even if it’s windy or hot.

Amanda & Robert want to use their engagement images for their Save the Date cards.
Here is a second draft for them.

A while back, we were asked to allow a local wedding venue to use our photos of a wedding/reception for their “Featured Wedding” for the 2008 version of their website. We were thrilled and honored.
Today, I got a late and hurried phone call from the venue’s owner. She needs the images first thing in the morning because they also want to submit them to a magazine for their profession! wow!!! *blush*
I suffered several technical difficulties this evening (wouldn’t you know it) because the search feature wasn’t working on my computer. (what on Earth???). I was afraid that the images were misplaced. Through some recent projects, like the clients’ album, I knew the images couldn’t have gone far, but I couldn’t find them, either. Panic began to set in. I called my first backup storage facility; no luck[1]. I called our album designer; she had a few. I called my photography partner, Dennis; he had them all. yay!
Then just as we resorted to plan “b”, my wonderful husband found them on my computer. (again, what on Earth???). So, the wonderful Dennis is burning the images (he’d already started) and delivering them to the venue in the morning. I wrote the commercial licence (hope I got THAT right) and sent it to them by email.
So, crisis averted….and images on their way and on time! whew!
[1] Because of our online image hosting, all is never lost. We always have yet another copy of the images But that server/service is in California, so we couldn’t get them on such a short deadline.

Through an online forum for Texas photographers, I was invited to be part of a “car/model” shoot. One of the guys knew someone with a car. I figured it was a nice Mustang or Corvette. Another guy had a sister willing to model.
Imagine my surprise when I showed up to shoot a Lamborghini and the amazing Becky! They made a great–and patient–team while we all tried our shots. I didn’t get that many images, as I was a little new to the group and the circumstances. Next time, though, next time! And, I did have to laugh at the guys. They were taking more pictures of the car than they were of Becky. I’ll say that she made the car even more beautiful! And to think, her goal for the day was to get better facebook photos. I think we accomplished that!
The logo. A “must” shot.
The car set against the green grass surrounding A&M’s Bonfire Memorial.
And see, Becky makes it all better!

I wish I had realized there was a shadow on her face. Still, this is a sultry image!

I actually took this one with a wrong setting, but I like it. Some accidents are a good thing, like Post-It notes. I love the way her eyes sparkle in this one.

And this is more what it was supposed to look like.
Thank you, Becky. Thank you, too, to the owner of the Lamborghini. Both of you gave a lot for us to be able to get some unique shots for our portfolios. Wow! And, I owe you both a ~couple of drinks. ![]()

Susan and Raymond have created a wonderful little retreat and spa on Royder Rd (on the right side just before you get to the turn for 7F) called The Nest.
was invited to The Nest’s Grand Opening, so I offered to shoot the event for her.

In celebration we share; in each other, we care.
The alpacas were wonderful to meet and to greet!
Even when “stuffed” they have coats all a fluff!
Their coat, when spun, makes dressing for winter fun!
Door prizes galore, from lots of local stores!
Susan is greeting; all about she is fleeting!
Handwriting analysis a popular “psychoanalysis”…
…and the food! oh my! Everything I must try!
Susan, a great hostess, didn’t forget! She gave favors to all of the guests
A firepit was built in memory of one…
…and our weatherman, Bob French, a few songs he had sung.
A spa blessing like none that you’ve ever seen…
…and the firepit dedication was a tear-jerking scene!
Of course, it’s not a party until something gets broken
New friends to love, and a bond that’s unspoken
It all come packaged in this place truly blessed
This woman and her hero? They offer The Nest!
Congratulations, Susan and Raymond. I can’t wait to come get a massage!
